Contax T* 15mm Lens Specifications

Contax/Yashica mount

15mm F3.5
This lens has excellent color rendition and saturation. Superior sharpness even around the edges for a lens in this class. If you can use another lens I would suggest doing so but it can get you out of a pinch in a rare circumstance. This lens is not as specialized as the 16mm"fisheye" because it is true wide without the increased distortion caused by the 180 degrees field of view. This is a highly usable super wide lens. As far as being a real value? If it was  matter choosing I would go with more effective less wide focal length. The price... you pay big time.

"The Distagon T* 3.5/15 lens is a fast lens with the extremely wide image angles of 110° and a very long back focus. It offers excellent sharpness and has floating elements which increase image resolution noticeably in the close-up range. Further advantages are the even illumination of the image field and the possibility of realizing extremely dynamic perspectives which result in unusual effects. The close-up setting ranges to the width of a finger in front of the front lens! With this, unique photographs are possible. Favored for use in tight spaces, overall views in closed spaces and representation of wide spaces."
