This is probably the sharpest 50mm ever built. Ironically the best performing lens is their least expensive and made in Japan. Best suited for available light situations and copy work. 
The Planar T* 1.4/50 lens is a compact, fast, high-performance lens with the standard focal length for Contax SLR-cameras. The lens also offers excellent sharpness and very low brightness loss at the edges. Due to its natural perspective it is particularly suitable for normal views, impressions of landscapes with the perspective of the human eye, people, travel photography and photojournalism.
